Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner has no problem wreaking havoc against her WNBA opponents, but she has her sights set on other competition. After some friendly trash-talking, she wants to go head-to-head with a fellow USA Olympian, Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins.

“I would love to just go out there and play against [Cousins],” Griner said, per Sam Amick of USA Today. “We talk a lot of crap to each other. I love talking to him. He’s really funny. I would love to just go out there and play against him.”

Let’s check out the tale of the tape:

While some may laugh off a friendly challenge like this, Boogie is more than game. His only stipulation would be that someone gets the showdown on tape.

“Whenever you’re ready to get it on camera and see her get embarrassed, I’m ready for it,” Cousins said, per Amick.

However, Cousins has nothing but respect for Griner. Perhaps that’s because he sees so many similarities between them, as he told Amick:

It’s almost like we’re the same person. As soon as I walk in the door, she’s at me. She says I’m a bum. She says she’ll kick my butt. It’s all in fun. She’s an incredible competitor. She’s an incredible player. It’s fun to be around the ladies and get to know them.

She’s got some footwork, but I’m top dog. I told her she’s the third-best post player here behind me and DJ (DeAndre Jordan). She’s a little mad about that.

A game of one-on-one will have to wait because both Boogie and Griner have gold medals to win. Maybe once the Olympics are over, the two will meet on the court.
