The Golden State Warriors capped off their fantastic season with a 4-2 NBA Championship triumph over LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers, giving the California franchise their first NBA Championship victory in over 40 years. With the sport now in its offseason, GSW can sit back and savour their success.

It may be their only victory, though, with betfair and other bookmakers installing the Cavs at odds of around 11/4 for next year’s NBA Championship. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic result by GSW and below are the five defining moments of the NBA Finals series.

LeBron James and Iman Shumpert miss on the buzzer
The first game was played in Oakland, meaning it was hugely important that the GSW got a result. With the game heading to OT, LeBron James had a shot at the basket and missed. Iman Shumpert got the rebound but also missed. GSW went on to win that game in OT.
